Do you want to help in Advocating for, Promoting & Rehoming of Retired Race Horses, while working with a dedicated team of volunteers across Queensland? We want to hear from you! We are currently seeking skilled individuals who have experience in helping animals in need, to carry out various voluntary roles including the role of a Membership Coordinator. The Standardbred Association Qld (SAQ) is a not-for-profit association, operating throughout Queensland and staffed exclusively by volunteers.

Key Responsibilities of the Membership Coordinator role include:

  • provide coordination of the association’s membership activities.
  • provide support to the Management Committee to ensure the efficient operation of the association.
  • Maintain strategies for the continual expansion of the club’s membership base and manage its ongoing administration.
  • Form a sub-committee to assist with membership sales.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to ensure membership fees reflect current opinions of the club.
  • Develop a proposal for membership fees and packages for the ensuing season for consideration by club committee.
  • Provide to the committee as soon as possible after the completion of each season recommendations for all membership types and fees for the ensuing season.
  • Ensure that related membership information is prepared for distribution and sale by a specified date of the current season.
  • Coordinate the collection of membership fees from members.
  • Maintain an accurate database of all club members and provide details to the club secretary when required.
  • Be familiar with our database that we have in place.
  • Undertake other tasks at the request of the Management Committee.

Qualifications/Experience/Knowledge

  • Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team, taking on new tasks as required
  • Great organisational and time management skills
  • Highly developed communication skills (written and oral), interpersonal skills and presentation skills
  • Ability to perform set tasks efficiently and to a high standard
  • Have passion, drive and commitment
  • Be flexible and confident in engaging others
  • Be discreet and able to maintain confidentiality on relevant matters

Relationships

  • Reports to the Associations Management Committee • Liaises with the Club Sub Committee • Liaises with all members of SAQ.

Accountability

  • Accountable to the Associations Management Committee.
