Queensland Program Of Assistance To Survivors Of Torture And Trauma Ltd.

The Queensland Program of Assistance for the Survivors of Torture and Trauma (QPASTT) is a non-profit organisation providing culturally sensitive and flexible service to people from refugee backgrounds.

The QPASTT Women's Skill Share group aims to remove barriers encountered by women during their settlement period in Australia by providing opportunities for social inclusion, skills sharing and developing networks through social connections.

All the activities undertaken by the QPASTT Women’s Skill Share Group are underpinned by the values of healing, thriving and increasing the empowerment of women through the learning and sharing knowledge and expertise.

The Main Objectives of the Sewing Classes are to Instruct Participants in :

  1. Appropriate use of sewing machines
  2. Garment construction
  3. Pattern making
  4. Creating designs
  5. Garment alterations
  6. Mending garments
  7. Enable participants to have increased confidence in their sewing skills
