Alex Makes Meals (AMM) is a not-for-profit organisation which started during COVID-19 to provide meals for frontline workers. Our scope has grown and we now support many people facing food insecurity in our community.

Our operational kitchen produces hundreds of meals each day, which our driving team then take out to charity partners who ensure they get to people in need. We are seeking volunteers to coordinate the logistics and support tasks that ensure this happens smoothly. This opportunity would suit someone looking to volunteer between school drop off and pick up (e.g. 10am-1pm).

Your Responsibilities and Duties

• Complete new volunteer inductions (1-2 per week on average)
• Allocate and distribute orders leaving kitchen
• Organise packaging and labelling requirements for our meals
• Update and distribute production numbers within AMM
• Liaise with Roster Coordinator to register attendance
• Develop and maintain signage requirements for the kitchen
• Order non-food kitchen supplies and packaging
• Receive orders and supplies for kitchen

Your Skills

• Highly organised
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent multi-tasker
• Tech savvy - accomplished with email, spreadsheets and document management
