Volunteering at HammondCare Hammondville is a great experience for you, and a great way to make a difference for people who are living with dementia.

As you visit and spend time with elderly male residents, you'll help with activities to build friendship amongst the group.

Some common activities include

• Help residents cook the BBQ
• Have a chat to the fellas
• Go out on special outings
• Reminisce about residents work days
• Tell a few jokes
• Assist Staff and help residents

Broad interests in all things related to cars, motorbikes, sport, woodworking, finance, Music, playing an instrument, travel, gardening, collectibles, drawing, painting and traditional board games.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the residents you are matched with.
