The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of MS Plus Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS).

MS Plus volunteer visitors connect with elderly people who are experiencing social isolation and loneliness to enjoy companionship.

Volunteer visitors share stories, go for a stroll, have a cuppa, listen to music or play a board game. Volunteers play a vital role in the life of a person living in an aged care home or their own home through ongoing friendship.

We are seeking a volunteer visitor, Italian speaking to visit a delightful woman living in an Aged Care Home in Camberwell. *Anna would greatly value 1:1 connection and being able to converse in Italian about a variety of topics - life in Italy, life in Australia, work, hobbies, family, music. Week day visit preferred. *Name changed to protect privacy

Requirements to become a Volunteer Visitor:

• Attend an Interview
• National Police Check (processed and paid for by MS Plus)
• Provision of two referees
• Completion of Training Modules
• To commit to fortnightly connections/visits for a minimum of 12 months Note: Taking up other means of connection (mail, phone) when visiting is not possible.
