About Raise:

At Raise we exist to help young people. We do one thing, and we do it really well – youth mentoring.

Mentoring empowers young people to be resilient, connected and hopeful for the future. We match trained volunteers with teenagers who would benefit most from an independent, caring adult who is there to listen – and be there just for them.

Our early intervention youth mentoring program is currently in over 180 high schools across Australia. This translates to over 2,500 young people matched with a qualified mentor, and we are growing each year.

What does a Youth Advisory Council member do at Raise?

we are not looking for an expert! We are looking for young people to voice their opinions on what we are doing at Raise Foundation as an organisation for young people.

The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) will contribute to ensuring the voice of young people is at the heart of everything Raise does by providing advice to the Raise Leadership Team about youth engagement and participation at Raise. The YAC will offer a youth perspective on the direction and overall development of Raise Mentoring Programs, as well as develop its own youth-lead initiatives and projects.

Youth advisory council members are required to be between the ages of 18-25 and will represent the diverse population of the young people in our programs.

  • Represent the voice of young people in our organisation
  • Hear about the challenges we're facing, and help us build a solution
  • Contribute to and develop youth-lead initiatives and projects with other YAC Members
  • Work collaboratively with other Youth Advisory Council Members
