Volunteer Driver - Food Pickup for people experiencing homelessness

We are now at an exciting stage where everything is happening, and we need motivated volunteers to support our development.

**About the role: ** Driver for people experiencing homelessness As a driver for the Community Union Defence League you will be required to commit to driving on a Sunday once a month during the times of 1100am to 3:00pm. This should be approximately 3 hours maximum hours of driving in total.

The position will be picking up food from other Volunteers who have very generously donated food to the kitchen. Note: You will be reimbursed for Petrol but your own car is required.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Contact the volunteer cooks the day before you’ll be driving out to them.
  • Text them an ETA when you around 1 hour from picking up
  • Get the food to the Kitchen in a timely manner. 3:15 is the preferred time of arrival.
  • Use a mask during COVID – 19 and use gloves.
  • Use our ZULIP group organisation for updates etc. ( can be accessed by phone or laptop)

No contact pickup ( Call volunteer cooks and ask them to leave the food outside so there is no risk of spread of the virus)

YOU WILL BRING An energetic and enthusiastic personality Outstanding listening skills Communicate confidently and effectively (through oral and written form) Ability to work independently and autonomously Some skills in the use of technology to access the ZULIP app
