Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective support to the Chair in facilitating growth and development opportunities for the Club
  • Responsible for increasing athlete numbers within the Club in conjunction with Club LT
  • Engage with external organisations including local government, business, affiliates, disability service providers, schools, members of State and Federal parliament with the objective to raise awareness through membership growth and/or fundraising opportunities
  • Act as an ambassador and spokesperson for the Club
  • Co-ordinate, facilitate and support others (Club LT, Athlete Leaders, Family members, Athletes) in Club development activities to raise awareness about Special Olympics

Competencies, Skills, Experience, and Education:

Essential •Strong networking, negotiation, organisation, andpresentation skills •Excellent organisation and communication skills •Strong leadership skills

Desirable •Possess business acumen, vision and strategic planning abilities •Demonstrated marketing and writing skills

Experience / Education Essential •Minimum of 3 years relevant businessexperience Desirable •Previous experience with a not for profit or disability organisation

Time Commitment: Minimum 2 years Approximately 3 - 4 hours per week and attendance at Club LT meetings. Must be available evenings and weekends.
