Volunteer Mentor - 'Braking the Cycle' PCYC Cairns

PCYC Qld (Qpcywa-Police Citizens Youth Club)

Do you have a minimum of 2 hours per week to mentor a disadvantaged young person?

The Queensland Police-Citizens Youth Welfare Association (QPCYWA) is a community-based organisation concerned with the development of youth through the provision of sporting and recreational activities.

One of the many programs PCYC Queensland delivers is the Braking the Cycle program. Braking the Cycle is a learner mentor driving program that aims to provide young people with increased employment opportunities, community connection and road safety education. We support learner drivers without access to a supervisor or registered vehicle to complete their logbook hours. Our Mentors are critical to the success of the program and act as positive adult role models as well as driving supervisors.

To volunteer with PCYC you are required to hold a Department of Justice and Attorney General Volunteer Working with Children Check (Blue Card) prior to commencement. However, PCYC can assist with the application. All training, resources and insurances are supplied by PCYC, vehicles are ANCAP 5 rated and well maintained.

The successful applicant would be required to have held an Open Driver's Licence for 12 months and have a good traffic history.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
