The Salvation Army (TSA) in Sunraysia currently operate and manage multiple stores across Mildura, Red Cliffs and Ouyen. The Salvation Army Thrift Shop is looking for new volunteers to help bring HOPE where it’s needed most. Our Salvation Army Thrift Shops are treasure troves of Second Hand goods. Our goods are fully sourced by local donations and all profits made go to funding vital community activities and programs across the area and the Corps.

The Role We are currently seeking a values-driven and proactive Truck Driver to carry out the collection, transport and delivery of donated gifts and other goods for The Salvation Army Thrift Shops across Sunraysia in Mildura, Red Cliffs and Ouyen from the appropriate destination in line with TSA mission and values. For insurance purposes, the successful applicant must hold a current and full licence, with a good driving history. The applicant should also be capable of assisting with moving heavy items, and demonstrate maturity and responsibility.

Other Key Responsibilities Include: Emptying clothing bins, emptying of truck and appropriate placement of goods on return to store, unloading of furniture, taking unsaleable material to refuse disposal point

Vehicle and equipment are safely and securely stored, with the vehicle being maintained in a clean and tidy condition at all times

Assist in working in the stores in the goods receiving areas, and in the sorting and processing areas as required by Managers

Assist the Store manager in setting up furniture and displaying it in the store

Reporting to the Coordinating Thrift Shop Manager this position is primarily located at the Fourteenth St & Etiwanda Ave site.

This role will require a Criminal History Check, Working with Children's Check

Mandatory Requirements of the Role Complete The Salvation Army's volunteer registration, induction modules and any other training as required

Criminal History Check (Police Check), WWCC and and any other integrity checks as required for the role

Current Drivers Licence issued in Victoria or NSW.

Time Commitment 1 or 2 shifts per week ongoing, various shifts available across the week Monday to Saturday. We are looking for someone who can make a minimum commitment of 3 months, renewable at the agreement of both parties.
