Brick Club Volunteer

Anglicare Victoria
  • Ongoing volunteer roles available on Thursday mornings
  • Location: Warrnambool or Noorat

About Us

At Anglicare Victoria our focus is on transforming the futures of children and young people, families and adults. Our work is based on the three guiding pillars of Prevent, Protect and Empower.

We offer a comprehensive network of services and seek to ensure the provision of high quality services that will bring about self-determination, and significant improvements in the life experiences of vulnerable children and families with whom we work.

The Position

The South West Brick Club consists of a Warrnambool and Corangamite Branch. Both clubs run a variety of developmental and social programs. The Schools Based Program is ran by the Warrnambool Brick Club and endeavours to fill a social need for those children and families who do not enter into the sporting and club opportunities at school and would benefit from an alternative to the playground at lunch time.

The role of the schools based program volunteer is to facilitate the program in a local primary school on a regular basis. They are required to transport the kit to and from the school and are encouraged to interact with the children in the Club and enjoy the opportunity to play with construction toys within the parameters of their role as facilitator.

  • Ongoing availability on a school day, day and time negotiable with the school
  • To be non-judgmental and open to dealing with a wide range of people.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and other volunteers.
  • Show an awareness of the needs and appropriate behaviours of school aged children
  • Ability to take initiative and work autonomously within an organisational setting.
