NSW Learner Driver Mentor - Mt Druitt
Australian Red Cross- Flexible days/hours, minimum 2 hours per week
- Must hold full NSW Drivers Licence
The program
The Learner Mentor Program supports new drivers in the Mt Druitt area to become licensed by allowing them use of a vehicle for on-road practice while a volunteer mentor supervises them. This program is designed to assist learners who may not have ready access to a suitable supervising driver but would like to gain their licence for employment and social inclusion reasons. The program may support the learner in logging some or all of the required practice hours they need before taking the NSW Driving Test.
The opportunity
Mentors are volunteers who help Learner Drivers complete their hours of "on-road" driving experience. It is a great opportunity to support our local community, make new friendships and support networks.
The impact
As a volunteer mentor you will be helping people to overcome barriers that disadvantage them by not having a drivers licence – such as employment, study and independence. Your assistance in this new initiative will be both valuable and rewarding for both the learner and you.
Vehicles and training provided.
Application requirements
To submit an application you will be required to provide details for two professional references.
