The program

Red Cross provides a door-to-door transport service for older people, and for people who have disabilities to non-urgent medical appointments or social outings.

The opportunity

This role would suit a semi-retired or retired person who is able to commit to at least one full day per week.  The applicant must be over the age of 18 years, have a full Australian driver's licence, and have experience working with older people, and people with disabilities.  

A Red Cross vehicle is provided for use, and volunteers are responsible for following transport schedules, liaising with transport coordinators, maintaining a friendly and professional manner, and ensuring clients are transported safely to and from their appointments.
