Uniting Social Support Program keeps people connected to the community to support them to live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love. Jane* describes herself as personable and chatty.

Jane enjoys playing games and puzzles on her ipad and watching movies on TV. Uniting are seeking a volunteer with effective listening and conversation skills, a positive attitude and a mature outlook to support Jane to reconnect with her community.

The selected applicant will have effective communication skills and an ability to creatively reconnect Jane to her interests including knitting. Visits may include accompanying Jane on outings to the swimming pool, to the movies or for a scenic drive/outing. You will hold a valid Australian driver’s license and have access to a car that you will be prepared to transport Jane* in during visits. The confidence to work independently is a must.

As a valued member of the Social Support Team, you will have access to ongoing training and development, opportunities to meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. Interested?
