Total Environment Centre was established in 1972 and has a record of over 100 successful environment protection campaigns. As a registered charity we have worked on plastic pollution (including plastic pollution awareness; container deposit schemes across the nation; a large, citizen science microplastics project; and much more); climate change through green energy policies and implementation (10 years in the works); biodiversity (including rainforests, the coast and wild rivers) and currently a big effort to protect Sydney's South Western population of koala's - the last remaining growing colony in NSW; and have a long-standing campaign to protect urban green spaces.
Marketing volunteer role
You will be joining Total Environment Centre’s Deputy Director, Marijs Vrancken and assist in creating content: For campaign messaging e.g. flyers, social media, newsletter, etc. Design of engaging marketing collateral Website Updates, SEO and Optimisation (NationBuilder) Schedule social media posts across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
Eligibility Criteria
If you have experience or qualifications in any of the following, we would love to hear from you! Official credentials are not essential, but experience in social media content creation is highly preferred. If you have experience in SEO and Canva, that is a plus, but we can also teach you these skills.
- Communications, Marketing
- Social Media
- Creating social media content for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn
- Google Ads and Google Analytics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong editing skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Proficiency in English

- SEO research and implementation/ SEO blog writing
- Web Design (Nation Builder)
- Videography
- Graphic Design (Canva)
- Visual storytelling
- Fundraising campaigns and/or strategy
- Knowledge of plastic pollution, renewable energy, biodiversity conservation, or any of the other campaign topics would be greatly appreciated.
