Mackay Isaac Tourism are looking for passionate locals to represent their region through our Mackay Isaac Regional Visitor Information Centre in Sarina, Mackay Isaac Visitor Information Kiosk at the Bluewater Lagoon Mackay and at various events .

Principle duties and responsibilities:

• Initial Customer Service.
• Provision of information and directions to customers who request it.
• Answering phone calls for both the information centre and the regional tourism organisation.
• Selling retail and consignment stock.
• Where possible assisting with bookings for customers.
• Maintaining the brochure space as per national requirements of an Accredited Visitor Information Centre.
• Other duties as requested by Management or Coordinator.

Essential

• Experience in a customer service environment.
• A positive disposition.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of groups including customers, members, other industry stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn about the tourism industry.

Highly Regarded

• Cash handling skills.
• Qualifications/Experience in retail, hospitality, travel or tourism.
• Knowledge of/experience with travel products around the Mackay, Isaac and Whitsunday regions.
• Experience using Apple Mac and general computer.
• Previous experience in BookEasy.
