We are looking for kind, committed and positive people to join our team of 1:1 social support volunteers. This program is designed to support older people to reengage and reconnect with their community and to the things they love to do.

An is an open, friendly person who is easy to talk to, and enjoys being social. Her skills and interests include craft, crochet, gardening, and playing classical music on the piano. An would prefer a mature female volunteer with similar interests to visit either in the afternoons on Monday or Friday, or anytime Wednesday or Thursday.

Time together may include a home visit for conversation and refreshments, a visit to a cafe for a meal or taking a drive. You'll need good communications skills and the ability to work independently.

As a valued member of social support team you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, meet new people and develop new skills. You'll receive support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your volunteer journey. Volunteer to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community.
