Homies is a special Homework Club program run by the Emerald Hill Library. It offers one-on-one tutoring and mentoring for Primary School aged children, particularly those from a disadvantaged background. We are seeking applications for volunteers to join our Homies Homework Club program. We depend on volunteers who are willing to give their time to this important and rewarding work. Volunteers will need to:

• Be confident in helping Primary School aged children with their homework, especially reading, writing and maths.
• Work mostly with the same child each week, to develop an effective tutoring and mentoring relationship.
• Be available Thursday evenings from 6pm - 7:30pm during school term time
• Have current Police and Working With Children Checks ( free for volunteers and the Library will assist with obtaining these)
• Formal qualifications are beneficial but are not required
• Volunteer insurance cover is provided
