The program

Manoora Community Centre provides a range of services to connect people with their wider community. Manoora Community Centre offer social support and inclusion programs as well as a drop-in space where community members can access resources (computers, phones etc.). The aim of the Manoora Community Centre is to build social connectedness among the local community by providing a safe and open space where community members are able to access formal and informal community-based support, and develop meaningful social networks.

The Opportunity

The role of Community Support Volunteer, will involve working with community members of all ages, and will support the Team to provide direct service delivery with a client focus at Manoora Community Centre. The position will also support the Community Support Officer to ensure that community members receive information about the most appropriate services or programs for their identified needs, taking into account their individual circumstances and the service resources available.

The impact

In the Volunteer Community Support role, you will be able to connect, learn, listen and teach community members, experiencing social isolation and vulnerability.
