Time involved: Times and days are flexible across the 7 day week - a requirement for at least 1 hour per week
The program
Supporting individuals who are socially isolated and have a diagnosed mental illness by providing one on one social support. Volunteers meet with their MATE on a weekly or fortnightly basis to participate in social activities.
The opportunity
This role suits someone over the age of 18 who is a good listener and can commit to one hour a week or two per fortnight for social outings to help someone reconnect t their community. Drivers licence and available car is a bonus but not compulsory.
The impact As a MATES Befriender you'll brighten the life of someone experiencing vulnerability by offering them company and friendship. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World's largest humanitarian network.
