Recovery Volunteers undertake the difficult but critical tasks of assisting Sunshine Coast residents clean up their homes after declared disasters.

Following a declared disaster the disaster response and disaster recovery efforts can become chaotic. The best support you can provide is to register as a Disaster Recovery Volunteer now, before disaster strikes.

Preregistration ensures support for volunteers and allows Recovery Team Leaders to coordinate the recovery efforts making efficient use of resources.

In the event disaster recovery is activated you will be contacted by mobile phone & asked to meet with the recovery Team Leaders at a nominated assembly point.

If activated, Recovery Volunteers will need to be self-sufficient with:

Appropriate clothing

Closed in footwear or preferably safety shoes

Drinking water

Lunch & snacks

Self-sufficiency with personal protective equipment and cleaning items such as brooms, mop, buckets, mud squeegees, etc. will be greatly beneficial to disaster impacted people when cleanups are required.

Please note: You must be over 18 years of age to register as Disaster Recovery Volunteer.
