Community Visitors Volunteer’s role is to provide friendship and companionship on a fortnightly basis to residents living in an Australian Government subsidized aged care home, or a person in their own home who is receiving a Government funded Home Care Package.

Possible duties include:

• Sitting and having a chat, discussing current events and interests • Working on a hobby together

• Take a walk or potter in the garden

• Read a book, magazine or newspaper

• Listen to music together

• Play a board game

Experience & Skills

• Excellent understanding of professional boundaries and the ability to work within the scope of your role

• Understanding of and maintenance of confidentiality

• Experience of working with older people is beneficial
