The volunteer chess tutor provides chess training in how to play, technique and strategy, during school hours to Grade 3-6 students enrolled in Thomastown West Primary School. A significant number of these students come from disadvantaged, culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Whittlesea Community Connections is a Child Safe organisation and all volunteers will be required to undergo a Working with Children Check and for those that have one-to attribute our organisation to their current check. A National Police Check.

Key responsabilities: Support the Chess learning needs of students.  Help to develop the creative and imaginative side of the child’s brain.  Develop positive relationships with students in the program.  Reporting any concerns around student wellbeing and irregular. behaviours to staff within the program.  Enter and play in friendly competition with neighbouring schools.
