Biographies are confidentially recorded by volunteers in patients' own homes or within a hospital setting. Volunteers attend up to six recording sessions with patients and transcribe the recording each week, respecting the integrity of the patient's words.

Volunteers record clients narrative during 1 hour sessions. The average biography takes four to six sessions, after each session the volunteer transcribes the recording and edits it into a word document, this can take up to 4 hours for each hour of voice recording.

The time commitment required ranges from four to eight hours per week.

Good basic computer skills word processing and editing documents are required, and your own laptop or desktop computer. Training will be provided.

Working with children check and national police certificate can be organised by CAPCS at no cost to volunteers. Volunteers are required to adhere to the SA Health Immunisation Policy.
