Our CVS Volunteers help older people stay connected to the community through regular social visits.

The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is a Government funded program that matches a volunteer visitor with an isolated person living in an aged care facility or in their own home. The Volunteer and resident are matched according to similar interests or background. The visits are regular, either weekly or fortnightly and purely social, with the intention of developing an ongoing friendship and social connectedness. Volunteers in the program commit to at least 12 months.

At a time when social isolation can be felt by us all, the challenge can be even greater for those in our community who are most vulnerable.

Do you speak a second language? We have residents who would love to be matched with a volunteer they can chat to in their first language. Volunteering can be an extremely rewarding experience for everyone involved. If you would like to make a real difference in the life of an older person in your community and can spare an hour per fortnight to visit a resident in the Kingston/Bayside area, we would love to hear from you!
