About RSPCA NSW Op Shops: RSPCA NSW’s Op Shops provide a range of second-hand items to the local community, including clothing, home décor, kitchenware and more. Contributions made through our op shops make a lifesaving difference to abandoned neglected, sick, and surrendered RSPCA NSW animals.

About the role: RSPCA NSW’s Tweed Heads Op Shop are looking for friendly and helpful volunteers to assist customers that walk through our doors, providing them advice and help in choosing and viewing items, serving customers, organising and displaying products for sale and general cleaning around the store.

In this role, you will be providing assistance to customers to choose to view and select items for purchase that will support RSPCA NSW’s animals and the wider community.

Please note: this volunteering role does not have any animal contact.

What this volunteer role looks like:

*Maximising sales by providing helpful advice and assistance to our customers

*Serve customers in the shop, processing payments using cash or the EFTPOS terminal

*Sorting and organising merchandise for sale

*Providing general cleaning to the store and its displays

*Comply with all Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines

*Understand and comply with RSPCA NSW policies and procedures, including the Confidentiality Agreement.

What we need from you:

*At least 18 years old

*Previous retail experience is welcomed, but not required

*Friendly and vibrant personality to welcome and assist our customers in the store

*Ability to lift over 10kg

*Clear and accurate communication skills

*Positive and professional attitude
