The ACVVS program at Sydney MCS serves culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) residents who are isolated due to limited family support and language and cultural barriers.

Sydney MCS recruits, trains, and supports volunteers to visit eligible residents in an aged care facility or at home. The Visitors Volunteer will be matched with aged care residents according to language and cultural backgrounds.

Essential Criteria: • Respect the rights of the client including confidentiality, privacy and maintain dignity. • Exercise a duty of care at all times. • Communication skills (listening and speaking skills). • Emotional skills, teamwork, reporting, commitment, listening skills, and other skills that will be helpful in assisting the seniors and aged care community.

Requirements: • COVID-19 third vaccination (the first booster) is MUST. • Complete a mandatory Police check. • Training provided.
