Community Visitor Volunteer - Govoriš li hrvatski?

People Who Care (Inc)
Logo for People Who Care (Inc)

Rose is originally from a town near Rijeka in Croatia. She had no formal schooling but has worked hard in market gardens, and as a mother to 4 kids. She enjoys exercise groups and would enjoy a friendly chat and a walk around the lovely gardens where she lives. She speaks english very well, but would be grateful to meet someone with a similar background and also to speak some Croatian if possible.

If you have the ability to communicate sensitively with elderly people and an hour a week to spare, I would love to hear from you.

The Community Visitor Scheme is a Federal Government initiative established to promote links between people living in an aged care facility and their local community. The aim of the scheme is to improve residents' quality of life for those who have limited family, cultural and social contact and may be at risk of social isolation.

Volunteers will be required to have a current Influenza and Covid 19 vaccination or be willing to get one. A mask and a negative Rapid Antigen Test is currently a requirement for entry to aged care facilities. RATs will be provided by the facility

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
