We are looking for kind, committed and positive people to join our team of 1:1 social support volunteers. This program is designed to support older people to reengage and reconnect with their community and to the things they love to do. Currently we are looking for a volunteer for Dorothy*

Dorothy is described as a reserved, private person but will open up once she get to know you. She likes cooking, watching tv and listening to the radio. In the past she enjoyed gardening.

Dorothy would prefer a Greek speaking female volunteer to visit her weekly in her home for a chat. It is hoped that the volunteer could help her reconnect with her community by encouraging her to join the Greek Elderly Citizens Group.

Dorothy is unable to walk very far so access to a car for community outings would be beneficial. To be successful in this role you will need to have good communications skills and the ability to work independently.

As a valued member of social support team you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator who will assist you throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community.

If you are interested in more information about this role please email or phone 139375 and quote SM-W-02
