Friendly Visitor who can play piano to visit a lonely elderly man - MS Community Visitors Scheme

MS Plus

Multiple Sclerosis is funded to provide a volunteer visiting program – the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS). Volunteer visitors share stories, go for a stroll or have a cuppa, listen to music or play a board game. Our volunteers play a vital role in the life of a person living in an aged care home or their own home through ongoing friendship.

Would you like to visit an older person in an Aged Care Home and make a real difference in their life? Have you got some time and conversation to share to reduce loneliness? Do you play piano?

We have a lovely lonely 72 year old man who would greatly benefit from a regular visitor. He thoroughly enjoys classical, jazz, and blues music and plays the piano. He would enjoy chatting with someone with similar interests and if possible, help him play the piano (he can only use one hand).

You need to be warm, caring, reliable and be willing to commit to weekly connections/visits or at least fortnightly connections/visits for a minimum of 12 months/ongoing.

Virtual visits (phone calls, letters, emails, postcards ) are vital and help continue connections during periods of visiting restrictions.

MS believes in a person to person approach and aspire to match you with someone local with shared interests and hobbies. We look forward to hearing from you.

You can not apply for this role as it is no longer available.
