Role description and impact: · Provide individual social support service to clients, giving valuable support to older people who may be isolated in the community · Participate in program development, reviews and training · Maintain accurate records of attendance times and vehicle mileage claim · Monitor the wellbeing of the client and report concerns or incidents to Domestic Assistance/Social Support Coordinator

Duties Visit client(s) weekly or fortnightly visits. Have communication with clients. Read and discuss newspapers and/or magazines together. Play board and/or card games and/or mah-jong together. Do gentle exercise together. Do calligraphy. Have a walk together (Depending on client’s health condition). Assist clients in participating in social activities. Accompany clients with grocery shopping with volunteer's personal vehicle. Accompany clients to doctors’ appointments with volunteer's personal vehicle.

Skills and requirements · Sound communication and listening skills · Understanding of the importance of promoting independence and self-esteem for older people · Ability to support supervisor and follow directions · Current Drivers Licence and own roadworthy vehicle · Current comprehensive car insurance and car registration
