We were established in 2013 as a registered Australian Not-For-Profit organisation with the aim of glorifying God by empowering impoverished people to break free from the cycle of poverty. We do this collectively by assisting people establish various business enterprises so they can create a reasonable living standard and become self-sustaining. This is a basic human right. We form microfinance branches throughout Australia and the other parts of the Western world which undertake the following activities: Fundraising and seeking donations from the local community by:

  • Hosting charity events (e.g., Gala Dinners)
  • Marketing and promotion of the organisation
  • Commercial investments and business enterprises to generate income
  • Growing our branch membership
  • Creating overseas centres for the purpose of establishing small business enterprises among the poor
  • Monitoring of the loan funds and overseas business activities

The Branch President's Duties include:

  • Act as principal overseer of the branch (Charitable Trust) by leading the volunteers, including the recruitment and mentorship of new volunteers who join the branch
  • Facilitate Bi-Monthly Branch meetings ensuring documentation of agenda are minuted correctly and carried out, according to Australian Not-For-Profit legislation
  • Source suitable overseas microfinance centre co-ordinators
  • Liaise with the overseas microfinance co-ordinators ensuring proper monitoring and oversight of the microfinance business enterprise projects being carried out
  • Partner with Branch treasurer with loan monitoring and oversight of overseas accounts
  • Support the Fundraising Manager with the development of a local marketing and promotional yearly plan to raise awareness of Microlend Australia, the Five Dock Branch, and their mission within the local community (e.g. letter drops, advertising, stand at local shows/events, private donations, corporate events, churches, clubs, business and other interest groups)
  • Act as central point of contact between Head Office and Branch, including preparation of annual Branch update to be included in organisation-wide annual report
