Role and Responsibilities

You will fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with the 3rd Space core values and as outlined below.

Accepting donations Upholding the highest standards when accepting donations Rejecting unsuitable, inappropriate or poor-quality donations Sorting, sizing and organising accepted donations Keeping the Donations Warehouse clean, tidy and free from clutter Assisting other team members with locating items Supporting the Operations Manager in identifying gaps in stock Upholding Workplace Health and Safety guidelines as directed by your Area Supervisor Lifting safely
Other duties as directed by your Area Supervisor or other 3rd Space staff member

Successful candidates will:

· Have an open mind and ability to provide service without judgement
· Have an understanding of and be willing to work within trauma-informed frameworks and person-centred approaches
· Good organisational skills and a passion for order · Can communicate effectively and clearly · Are able to work for long periods on their feet (more than 4 hours) · Possess a fair level of physical fitness and the ability to lift up to 15kg safely · Have an eye for detail and the ability to judge quality clothing and toiletry items · Demonstrated ability to work independently and to reach out when needed · Have a general understanding of workplace health and safety, particularly in relations to lifting · Are willing to go the extra mile and show initiative · Practice self-care and have the capacity to ask for support themselves as needed
· Are able to work within the parameters of the volunteer role, policies and procedures and respect professional boundaries
