We are looking for kind, committed and positive people to join our team of 1:1 social support volunteers. This program is designed to support older people to reengage and reconnect with their community and to the things they love to do.

Margaret* loves to go out and socialise. She has been described as friendly, with a great sense of humour. She like reading doing crosswords, attending church services and socialising with family and friends. Margaret would prefer a mature female volunteer who is outgoing and friendly who would be able to take her out in their car.

A typical visit could include, going to the movies, going out for lunch, window shopping or simply having a cuppa and chat at home with Margaret. To be successful in this role you will need to have good communications skills and the ability to work independently.

As a valued member of social support team you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community.
