Uniting Social Support Program keeps people connected to the community to support them to live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love.
Frank* has a great sense of humour, enjoys enjoys a robust conversation and is passionate about his faith. He attends church when Covid restrictions permit. He also enjoys reading, listening to music, and TV, especially detective movies or shows of a religious nature. In the past Frank enjoyed boating, fishing, karate and was a member of a gun club.
He would prefer a mature female volunteer to visit on a Thursday or Friday and would enjoy getting out for some exercise and going for a walk, stopping at local cafes for a coffee and stimulating conversation. You will need to be a kind and patient person who is good at listening. You must also have access to a car for local outings.
As a valued member of the Social Support Team, you will have access to ongoing training and development, opportunities to meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. Please note, visits will take place in line with Uniting and COVID safe guidelines. Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested?
