Uniting Social Support Program keeps people connected to the community to support them to live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love.

Jenny* is gregarious and chatty, with a myriad of interesting passions. She is a clock collector, a retired seamstress, a fan of old Hollywood movies and an avid fan of 'the Bold and the Beautiful'. Her favourite pastime is op shopping at her local strip of shops. She would love to have someone join her for some window shopping and a coffee.

Jenny is looking for an easygoing and friendly volunteer to support her to reconnect with her community. You will need good communication skills, patience, and a shared interest in movies and love stories. Visits may include accompanying Jenny on outings for coffee or to browse the local shops. Your own vehicle will be required to transport Jenny on outings. Valid driver’s licence necessary. The skills and confidence to work independently are a must.

As a valued member of the Social Support Team, you will have access to ongoing training and development, opportunities to meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your volunteer journey. Volunteer to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. Please note, visits will take place in line with Uniting and COVID safe guidelines. Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote WH-S-01.
