Raise Youth Mentor - City of Parramatta

Raise Foundation
Logo for Raise Foundation

At Raise we do one thing, and we do it really well – youth mentoring.

Based in high schools, we provide young people with a caring, independent volunteer mentor who shows up each week, just for them. With the time to listen, one-to-one support with a mentor empowers young people to talk through life’s challenges and help them cope better, today and in the future.

Our programs deliver statistically significant improvements for our mentees in regards to goal achievement, building resilience, improving help seeking behaviours, relationships and hope for the future.

Mentors participating in our programs tell us that mentoring has helped them build their confidence, listening skills, knowledge of and ability to relate to young people. In addition, mentoring has provided our mentors with personal growth and a sense of purpose and giving back.

Our programs are facilitated by a Raise Program Counsellor who is there to support you each and every week in your role as a mentor.

Mentoring runs for 2 hours per week, during school hours, during terms 2, 3 & 4 (excluding school holidays). Mentors are required to commit to attending at least 20 of the 22 weeks, to ensure the best possible outcome for their mentee.
