Volunteer will be matched to the client's location. Procedure for volunteer: A staff member will contact you via mobile if you reside in the vicinity or reside locally to the client needing the service. Confirmation of your availability for this service will be confirmed via phone call or text to your mobile.

Assisted Shopping: • Coordinator will set up initial assisted shop with client, if both parties are happy to continue the service with each other, client and volunteer will move forward organising days and times between one another for assisted shopping, it is then up to the volunteer to text service coordinator with date and kilometres when shop is completed. This is then recorded and calculated at the end of each month and paid to volunteers nominated bank account.

Online Shopping Click & Collect: • A staff member will send you a text with an order number, collection day and collection time, the clients name and address. Volunteer to respond to confirm availability. • On the day of collection a staff member will send you a text confirming the order is available for pick up from Coles or Woolworths. (Time and store location.) • Volunteer will then pick up the groceries from the “click and collect” area, which is located at the Coles or Woolworths front service counter or the click & collect provided car spaces located out front of Coles or Woolworths. (Keep in mind to observe Coles and Woolworths COVID-19 safety regulations.) • Once collected please then deliver the groceries as soon as practical, using your chiller bags and ice supplied by Meals on Wheels Central Coast for any frozen or cold goods. (If client does not answer at time of delivery, please contact service coordinator immediately. The client may like you to take the groceries to their kitchen bench and some may even ask you to pack them away for them.) • Use sanitiser regularly or disposable gloves, as well as a facemask, supplied by Meals on Wheels Central Coast, when entering the client’s home. (Observe social distancing with the client.) • Please be patient and respectful of your client’s needs. • Advise staff member by text when the delivery has been completed with clients name, and kilometres travelled.

To be referred to this role an interview with Volunteering Central Coast is required. You will be contacted soon to arrange a mutually convenient time and place.
