We are looking for volunteers to help to commit to a minimum of 8 hours per week, in their own time, whenever they are available. Please note that Domenica Nascimento, your supervisor, works Monday – Friday.

If you are only available on certain days, you can indicate this within your application. A current and clear National Police Check is required for this role.

About the role We are looking for a capable individual to research granting opportunities for RSPCA NSW. With 98% of RSPCA NSW’s operational funding reliant upon community support, grants are an important source of revenue for the organisation.

This is where the grant researcher will play an integral role in helping attain much-needed funding for new and ongoing programs as well as daily operating costs. The researcher will look for grants that RSPCA NSW is eligible for and meets the strategic needs of the organisation. The grant researcher will help track these grants in terms of their value, the application deadline, the prerequisites necessary for applications, and other grant-related details that are required.

What this volunteer role looks like

  • Researching grant opportunities
  • Maintaining database of grant information in current CRM, Salesforce, including:
  • Deadlines
  • Grant requirements
  • Amount of funding offered
  • Contact information (if provided)
  • Maintaining timely communications with the grant team
  • Contacting grant providers for additional information
  • Attending monthly Grant Committee meeting (remotely) - first Tuesday of every month, during business hours

What we need from you

  • Willingness to learn

  • Great attention to detail
  • Aptitude in conducting an online search for grant information
  • Previous experience in grant research is an asset
  • CRM experience – preferably Salesforce
  • Ability to communicate with the team and report back to the team in a clear and timely manner
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Organisation skills
