The key function of the Groundsperson is to ensure that Mudgeeraba Showgrounds and its assets are kept to a consistently high standard of presentation and condition. The Groundsperson will monitor the Showgrounds and its assets for faults or damages and alert the Secretary/Manager of works required where applicable. Duties may include but are not limited to:

Maintaining gardens, lawns & outdoor areas. This includes but is not limited to, mowing, pruning, weed control, watering, soil conditioning and application of pesticides/herbicides, pressure cleaning, rubbish removal, ordering supplies and equipment (where applicable).

To ensure machinery & equipment is maintained in good operating order at all times, and to ensure Machinery Log Books & Manuals are kept secure, up to date and in good condition. Machinery Induction is to be completed.

Ensure compliance with all Workplace Health & Safety policies and Staff, Contractors and Volunteers Handbook (Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Inc).

Required/completed maintenance and damaged assets are to be reported to Secretary/Manager in a timely manner.

Any other tasks allocated by the Secretary/Manager.

Key Competencies:

Current First Aid Certificate (preferred) *Basic understanding of machinery / equipment

Ability to work autonomously in a professional manner Good time management and the ability to prioritise workload Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
