We are looking for kind, committed and positive people to join our team of 1:1 social support volunteers. This program is designed to support older people to reengage and reconnect with their community and to the things they love to do.

Betty* describes herself as easy going and friendly. She loves spending time playing with her dog, gardening, playing piano, dancing and watching TV. She is looking for a volunteer who has similar interests.

Betty would prefer a mature volunteer who can be flexible as Betty's health can fluctuate so sometimes she would like to stay home and chat over a cuppa while other times she would like to go out for. The successful volunteer must be comfortable with dogs, have access to a car, and be available any day of the week. To be successful in this role you will need good communications skills and the ability to work independently.

As a valued member of social support team you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator who will assist you throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. If you are interested in more information about this role please phone 139375 and quote BM-S-01. *name changed for privacy.
