About the role

Multicultural Care is seeking Social Support Volunteers to assist and provide companionship to a client. The volunteers would be matched with clients who are socially isolated so as to connect them to the community.

The type of activities can include:

• Visiting services,
• Telephone and web-based monitoring services (including other technologies that help connect older people to their community e.g. to assist people with sensory impairments or those living in geographically isolated areas).
• Accompanied activities (such as assisting the person through accompanied shopping, bill-paying, attendance at appointments and other related activities).

The suitable volunteer will have the following attributes:

• Drivers licence
• Able to pass a police check
• COVID-19 vaccination
• Good communication and listening skills
• Be reliable and able to commit to at least 6 months
