Blue Mountains Bushfire Recovery Event - Friday 12 August

Conservation Volunteers Australia
Logo for Conservation Volunteers Australia

Join us and play an important role in protecting the threatened species of Braeside Hanging Swamp.

You’ll learn about the unique plants and animals that call this Endangered Ecological Community home whilst removing Scotch broom weed seedlings. The swamp is home to at least 2 threatened species in Blue Mountains World Heritage Area: the Giant Dragon Fly and the Blue Mountains Water Skink.

With your help we can help protect these species from the impacts of weed invasion, and support the work of Braeside Bushcare Volunteers which have been protecting the site for over 25 years. No experience necessary - bring yourself and a can-do attitude! Our friendly Project Officer is there to answer your questions and guide you along the way.

This project is made possible through the Landcare Led Bushfire Recovery Grants Program and is supported by the Australian Government’s Bushfire Recovery Program for Wildlife and their Habitat.

*Please note catering will be provided and pick-up from Blackheath Station is available upon request (spots limited).
