International Volunteers for Peace (IVP) is a non-profit local community group. It focuses on organising volunteering opportunities around worthwhile community needs and causes, for which it recruits participants from Australia and all across the world through its global network.

IVP activities are aimed at encouraging understanding among peoples and promoting discussion and an appreciation of the problems that different communities face in their struggles for social justice and environmental harmony.

International Volunteers for Peace (IVP) is the Australian branch for Service Civil International (SCI), one of the world’s largest Global Volunteering Networks with Branches in 44 countries and 106 Partners and Contacts in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas.

IVP is a member of Network for Voluntary Development in Asia (NVDA) which is a network of international voluntary service (IVS) NGOs in Asia & Oceania.

Job Description: The task will be to recruit a number of other volunteers to fill roles required by the organisation. Specific tasks are: • Update existing material on our shared drive, including recruitment processes and flow chart for responses • Collaborate with committee to write job description for various volunteer positions as required • Write and place advertisements in suitable places including online • Record responses and liaise with committee on selection criteria • Assist with selecting and interviewing applicants • Review and update volunteer orientation resources

Skills required: • Administration and database management • Good communication skills • Interviewing skills • Self-motivation • Training or experience in HR
