Logo for Brisbane Seniors OnLine

Brisbane Seniors Online (BSOL) is an all volunteer organisation that provides computer and smartphone training to Seniors aged over 50 in the Greater Brisbane area. We need receptionists in our Woolloongabba Office to answer enquiries from the public and enter details on our membership database.

Tasks include:

Answering the phones on reception.

It is important for the person on reception to be in on time and to leave at the designated time as they are covering reception. They need to be courteous on the phone and process any application on the MIS Database.

Checking by call back on clients.

Sometimes reception will be asked to chase clients up, whether to see if they are still interested or if anything else has happened with the client. This could include getting bank details for refunds or for processing queries or refunds.

Maintaining how the system works.

Office volunteers not on reception can be asked to do checking, to make sure the system hasn’t missed anyone. This can include background checking of the system. It can also include checking the comments and processing comments/complaints listed there.

Maintain office

The computers and surroundings should also be maintained by office staff. This includes cleaning of computers, desks etc. Including equipment used by clients.

While this is a volunteer position, you are expected to attend the days and times assigned to you.

Arrangements can be made for swapping days/hours.

Staff meetings

Office staff are expected to attend staff meetings, even if they are arranged on days you are not assigned on. You are expected to attend. You are expected to contribute.

This is a volunteer organisation but it does have a structure/hierarchy. Office staff are expected to follow the guidelines of the Office manager and Management Committee.
