The Limestone Coast Local Health Network are looking for Supper Service volunteers for permanent shifts within the Mount Gambier Hospital.

Volunteers are required to meet COVID19 vaccinations requirements, as per the governments mandate and provide evidence of their COVID vaccinations to the Volunteer Coordinator before commencements.

Our Mealtime Support volunteers provide inpatients with socialisation and encouragement to eat during the mealtime just like when we are at home having a meal with our family. These volunteers will assist with getting the environment ready for the meal but are not to feed or move the patient in or out of bed. The nursing staff will assist with getting the patient moved into a ready to eat position.

This is a new volunteer program being implemented which the nursing staff are looking forward to having come onboard to assist those patients that require encouragement to eat.

Country Health Connect will ensure you have ongoing support and training.

  • We require all volunteers to have their DHS Aged Care and Working with Children Clearances prior to commencement.
  • We also require all volunteers to provide the Volunteer Coordinator with evidence of their COVID19 vaccinations.
