Workshop Supervisor

Rosefield Community Shed

The workshop supervisor’s key responsibility is to monitor activities in the workshop to ensure that members are working in a safe and inclusive manner.  It is the supervisor’s responsibility to stop any activities considered to be unsafe and not allow those activities to resume until they are deemed to be safe, or a risk assessment has been carried out and actions have been taken to mitigate the unsafe conditions/behaviours. 

Tasks include: Opening the Shed at the beginning of a session. Monitoring activities. Organising the morning tea. Assigning activities/projects to members. Resolving queries by directing members to other members with the appropriate experience and or knowledge.  Resolving any issues or disputes by following the dispute resolution process. Investigating and reporting any incidents that may occur during the workshop session. Closing and locking up the facility at the end of the session.

Qualifications/Experience: •Experience in manufacturing or working with machinery. •A sound knowledge of the SA Health and Safety regulations. •Basic knowledge of Corporate Governance requirements. •Experience in a supervisory or leadership role. •First Aid accredited.
