Camp Volunteers - Sydney Academy of Sport and Recreation, North Narrabeen - 10-14/01/21
Arthritis NSWCamp Footloose provides a valuable opportunity for children and young people with arthritis (aged 9 to 18 years) to have fun, meet others like them and share experiences in a supportive environment. It also helps them gain a sense of control over arthritis and their lives.
Volunteering for our camps is a rewarding experience to support the development and foster social inclusion and fun for children living with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA).
As a camp volunteer, we ask that you:
- participate in an informal screening interview (via Zoom)
- attend a digital training day (6.00pm – 8.30pm, 13 December 2021 via Zoom) covering roles and responsibilities, condition education and child protection training
- active participation in a weeklong sport and recreation camp (active involvement during 8am – 9pm Tuesday – Thursday)
- support ANSW staff with monitoring children for safety and social participation with activities and peers
