Volunteer to change lives. Yours included. This volunteer opportunity will help to Assist and provide information to men who are appearing in court for the application of a Domestic Violence Order

This role would suit someone who builds rapport with men who appear in the Domestic and Family Violence Court to provide information and support around court processes. the person would need to be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role is undertaken in the magistrates court where you would see from 15 - 20 men and work collaboratively with stakeholders such as the police, legal representatives and court staff.

Tasks involved include: ▪Approach and introduce yourself to men appearing in court ▪Provide information and support around domestic violence orders and options ▪Provide information about the court process ▪Provide referral information to relevant community services ▪Liaise with other stakeholders in the court ▪Provide simple statistics to the manager around the work undertaken

Skills Required: ▪ Previous counselling or legal knowledge is recommended
