Dutch speaking female volunteer for visits to elderly lady in Bayswater North Aged Care Home (VIC)

Share your language (Dutch) and companionship during fortnightly/weekly visits with an elderly Dutch lady living in aged care home in Bayswater North. A Female volunteer fluent in Dutch is requested for this role. A patient, understanding female is requested, who can talk about Dutch heritage, look at books together and enjoys music.

Visits may be spent talking or sharing in a simple leisure activity together. Your regular visits can make a real and positive difference in the life of this resident - reducing social isolation and improving well-being.

We ask volunteers to commit to weekly visits for at least 12 months, however this is an ongoing role & we hope to support your friendship for as long as possible.

Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing support, travel reimbursement and invitations to meetings together with other visiting volunteers.

This program is part of the Community Visitors Scheme and the Commonwealth Home Support Program– an Australian Government Initiative
